Brendan Maclean is a fun, quirky guy who is an aspiring actor, radio presenter on Triple J, musician/songwriter/singer (a cross between Paolo Nutini and Fiona Apple) and a part-time model. He’s what you could call a triple threat. If you’re in Sydney, it’s quite possible that you’ve been to one of his performances in trendy music bars or even heard him on Triple J’s breakfast or afternoon shows. A very optimistic person, he has a unique personality that stands out in a crowd and I must say I’ve not met anyone quite like him.
Working with us on the shoot was Corrine Grbevski for makeup and Adam from Michael Wolff for hair, a chic little salon in the stylish part of Potts Point.
It was pouring mad on the day of the shoot and had to do some last minute location scouting and we ended up in the quaint area of The Rocks, which looks like an old European settlement in the trendy part of Sydney (where all the best bars, restaurants and hotels are located). Cold and drizzled on, we got some shots which showcased Brendan’s acting abilities. He’s normally a very smiley and happy guy so I was very impressed with the array of emotion shown without looking too pained. Major points.
Motion movie composition.
The never ending rain added to the mood, inspired by Burberry. Sort of.
Going for an indie-band-member look.
Yes Brendan, you love Sydney, I love Sydney, we all love Sydney. Everybody now!
